School Recital

Saint Louis Ballet School offers an end of the year performance through a Recital in June at St. Charles Community College Theater. There is a dress rehearsal day and a recital day which includes three performances. Performance #1 is for our PreBallet students, Performance #2 is for our Levels 1-4 and Performance #3 is for our Levels 5-8. (Detailed schedules are provided once you are a student of the school). Our parents need not live at the theater on recital day weekend and may still enjoy watching their children perform in a professionally organized onstage presentation with costumes and stage lighting.

Performing on stage is a huge part of a student's dance education. Practicing technique and steps in the studio is the most important, but a student must learn how to execute those steps in the same way in front of an audience to receive their "Bravos!". We introduce the youngest PreBallet division to the stage in a special way that makes the stage familiar and fun by having them right there in the audience in visible sight of their families during the entire show. This prepares them for their future stage experience when they are older and will have dressing rooms and the full backstage performance experience.

Recital photos and DVD's are offered as well as full costume care. We order, alter, steam and transport all costumes for our students and families. A huge bonus for our busy parents.

Recital production fees are charged to cover theater and production expenses.
