Dance Program Overview
St. Louis Ballet School offers a complete curriculum for the casual or serious student including preballet, pretap, ballet, pointe, variations, jazz, tap, hip hop, and adult classes. In addition to our standard dance classes, the school also offers a Junior and Senior Performing Ensemble that students can audition for annually. These ensembles perform at local festivals, lecture demonstrations and some competitions. For our serious ballet students selected by the Artistic Director of Saint Louis Ballet Company , the Trainee program provides experience in the professional world.

School Philosophy
To provide students with the skills they need to enjoy dance for a lifetime whether a student is seeking a career in dance or simply want to dance for the enjoyment of it. We always keep in mind that a strong ballet foundation is essential for all styles and types of dancing and all of the greatest broadway, jazz and modern dancers have strong ballet foundations. In addition, a dancer should be well-rounded, therefore, students coming to St. Louis Ballet School to seek ballet classes should also enroll in other types of dance such as jazz and tap; all these are available by very skilled instructors at St. Louis Ballet School. Ballet is also a wonderful way to instill a discipline in your child which carries over to ALL aspects of their life including their school work. Many ballet dancers have a wonderful discipline and even if they don't end up with a career in dance they typically excel in another chosen career paths.

Education through our Dance Video Library
Arts education is not only learned in the classroom but also outside of the classroom. Thanks to a donation by long time supporter, Mr. Ian Archer-Watters, the studio is able to provide the Archer-Watters Dance Video Libdrary, a collection of over 80 DVD's of ballet and documentaries for students to check out for Free.

2 in 1: Dance + Music Program
